This scanner performed well, accurately diagnosing/displaying trouble codes that caused my check engine light to come on. It also comes with a mini-cd which contains a database for use to identify the codes listed in general & manufacturer specific classifications.

The Reader worked as promised. I was able to read out the codes and pinpoint my problem within a few minutes. The product comes with a PC program that can interpret the codes but the table printed in the maual was sufficient. The manual is also on the CD in case you lose it. You can also read out the VIN number and you can reset the error codes after you have made the repair.

I really like this item. Its really easy to use and does exactly what I needed it to do. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because you do have to look up the code in a book instead of it being on screen. The more expensive model has that feature but for the number of times I am actually going to use this I opted for the less expensive model. I am really happy with this unit.

How complicated can it be, only having 2 buttons? The instructions are explicit in the order in which to do things and in their explanation of functions. After a short wait and a few clicks of a button, it will show you codes that you can either look up in the booklet, or in the CD library
